People have a liking for humanoids who look like them. Just like this little delivery box: smiling at me, blinking its little eyes-little hearts and showing me that pizza has already been delivered to somebody. It acts just like a person. But the most important word here is “like”. One of Mori’s revelations was that people do like mechanisms alike them but up to a certain degree of similarity. Once the similarity is critical people are not into humanoids any more and, on the contrary, they feel fear and loathing.
